Danica founded Kora with the belief that yoga is about so much more than movement — it's an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and return to yourself.

A lifelong athlete, Danica grew up playing competitive soccer and continued through college before earning her Master of Public Health and building a career in healthcare. Although she's always been passionate about health and well-being, yoga didn't come naturally to her at first. It wasn't until a season of injury, travel, and personal growth that yoga helped shift her life from performance to one rooted in presence.

As her practice deepened, Danica completed her yoga teacher training and spent time teaching before turning her focus to bringing Kora to life. While she appreciates the physical practice, it was pranayama — the practice of working with the breath — that transformed her relationship with yoga. Through the breath, she discovered a deeper sense of presence, resilience, and connection that continues to shape her life today.

That experience inspired the vision behind Kora. Danica wanted to create a studio that feels approachable, intentional, and rooted in community— a place where people can step away from the pace of everyday life and reconnect with themselves through practice. Her hope is that every person who walks through Kora's doors feels welcomed, grounded, and nourished in the way they need most.

When she's not at the studio, you'll likely find her planning her next trip, exploring Seattle with her dog, Kya, reading, taking long walks, or spending time with family and friends.
